About D'Angelo
From the Inside Out
D'Angelo Stefani spent years inside the federal prison system — and instead of letting that time define him, he used it to study, write, and plan. He emerged not just with a manuscript, but with a mission: to build a publishing house that would amplify voices the industry had long ignored.
Together with his wife Jennifer, D'Angelo co-founded Haven House Publishing in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The press has since become one of the most recognized independent publishers focused on reentry, second-chance narratives, and the lived experience of incarceration and its aftermath.
His writing is direct, practical, and deeply personal. He doesn't write about reentry from the outside looking in — he writes as someone who has walked every step of the path he describes.
